Education
I am currently taking classes towards Special Education Certification through Notre Dame of Maryland University. I hope that I be certified next year. My current GPA is 3.78. My undergrad degree was in Psychology.
Experience
I have worked as a tutor working with Elementary Students. I have even tutored students with special needs. I have also worked as a tutor and an assistant teacher with teens whose lives had been uprooted for so many situations. As an undergrad student in the 1990s, I participated in a volunteer read aloud program for students in the local area public school in Buckhannon, WV. Through my help and coming to the school once every week. Since I spent time and I provided him with strategies. By the end of Kindergarten, he was able to read some simple words. By Second or third grade, he had achieved success with reading many pages to me . I also helped him to enjoy the books. Based on my past experiences, my classes as well as my new position as a Resource Teacher, I will be able to tutor all children preferably with Kindergarten through eighth grade. I know I can provide them with what they need.
