I received my B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park. I specialize in tutoring Chemistry and Math because I have a wealth of knowledge in these subjects. During college, I was an Ambassador in a MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) Program, where I worked with middle school through high school students in Math and Science. While I do not have formal experience tutoring students in college, I have experience working as a peer mentor to college students. My primary goal in tutoring is to provide students with a strong base of the subject at hand and grow their confidence in the subject so that they may eventually become independent learners. I recognize that learning styles vary from student to student, and I work hard to find the right style for my students. I also have the capacity to help students see the application that Math and Science have outside of the classroom, which I feel helps them to recognize the importance of the subjects. I think that once a student realizes that there is a purpose for the subjects, they become more invested. I am ready to tutor any age of students. During my spare time, I can be found with my family, reading, or hiking.
